Mitre 10 MEGA Oamaru is looking for an experienced retail professional with green fingers and a customer-focused attitude to take on a leadership role within our garden centre.  Permanent 40 Hours per week – Tue to Sat We are seeking someone who will manage and guide the garden team, while striving to meet all goals and targets. To succeed in this role, you will have: Excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills Administration experience -ordering - inventory - time management A high level of physical fitness with the ability to lift heavy items is essential for these roles Retail leadership experience, including stock management Sound experience in managing and mentoring staff. A passion for customer service excellence; Ability to manage a varied and busy work load; and A knowledge of garden hardware, green goods and associated products is preferred Your gardening passion may come from time in your own back-yard or you may have undertaken horticultural training – either way you will enjoy helping our customers select the right plants, along with all the dry goods and hardware, whether it’s fertilisers and pest control or gardening gloves and a wheel barrow.  Ideally you will be experienced with both green and dry garden goods, although applicants with a proven retail management background and who are eager to learn will be considered. Hours: Part-time - Thursday and Friday hours 11.30- 6pm Saturday 8.30- 5pm - Total 20 hours per week This varied and exciting role will have you working alongside our consultant, advising, and guiding our clients through their home renovation, or building project giving specialist flooring advice, full training will be given.
