Mataura Licensing Trust is continuing to grow, and we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Assistant Accountant to work within our payroll and accounting team.

The Role

Reporting to the Accountant, key responsibilities will include:

• Processing end-to-end payroll accurately and on time
• Maintaining payroll records, tax obligations and lodgments
• Ensuring compliance with payroll legislation and company 
  procedures
• Assisting with accounts-related duties and administration
• Assist with monthly reporting, including reconciliations and journals
• Work with the Accountant on developing new software and implementing new systems

Your Profile

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Proven experience in payroll and accounting
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work to deadlines in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Advanced Microsoft Excel capability
• An accounting degree or relevant qualification preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
