Central Lakes Trust (CLT) is seeking to appoint an experienced director to the Board of Pioneer Energy Limited (Pioneer), the foundation asset of CLT and active investor in renewable and sustainable energy across New Zealand. Through its subsidiaries, Pioneer operates generation, retail, and energy services, delivering strong returns and driving the transition to a low-carbon future. 

We’re looking for a proven governance leader who combines 
strategic clarity with real commercial edge. You’ll bring an 
understanding of the energy sector’s market dynamics, risk landscape, and stakeholder complexity. Experience navigating partnership structures and multi-party environments is important, as is operating in digitally-enabled, technology-forward businesses. Demonstrated integrity, sharp strategic instincts, and a collaborative mindset are key.

The board meets 8 times a year, plus committee work.
