Birchfield Coal Mines Ltd is a family owned and operated coal mining company based on the West Coast of the South Island, New Zealand. It has been mining on the West Coast for over 40 years and currently operates two opencast coal mines. One located near Reefton, the other near Greymouth. These mines are supported by a number of transport and logistic hubs on the West Coast and in Canterbury.

Coal produced by the company is used in a variety of applications within the South Island and wider New Zealand, along with export shipments.

The West Coast offers affordable housing and unrivalled outdoor recreational opportunities. It is renowned as an untamed natural wilderness.

Job Description

A vacancy for an experienced Excavator Operator has become available within our Reefton operations.

This position requires:

• Reliability
• The ability to work well in a team environment
• Good communication skills

The successful applicant will have:

• A full New Zealand drivers licence
• The right to work full time in New Zealand
