Rural Livestock are looking for an experienced Livestock agents to join our team.  This is a full-time position with a current client book and will be based in Oamaru or surrounding area.

Qualifications & experience

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, are crucial for effectively engaging with clients and colleagues
• Tertiary qualifications or relevant training in agriculture, or a related field are highly desirable, showcasing a commitment to continuous learning and a deep understanding of industry best practices.
• Practical experience and academic expertise will enable the candidate to excel in navigating the complexities of the agricultural and livestock sectors.
• The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in livestock handling, showcasing an understanding of animal welfare and effective management throughout the buying and selling of livestock

Tasks & responsibilities

• The successful candidate must demonstrate proficiency in livestock handling, showcasing an understanding of animal welfare and effective management throughout the buying and selling of livestock.
• Exceptional customer service skills are essential, as the role involves building and maintaining positive relationships with clients.
• Auctioneering skills will be required.
• Strong reporting around accurate livestock transactions is a must, with the ability to communicate with fellow team members.
• An acute awareness of health and safety protocols in agricultural settings is vital to ensure the well-being of both personnel and livestock throughout all aspects of the role.
