The Mataura Licensing Trust (MLT) is seeking an experienced and highly capable Human Resources Executive to join our leadership team based in Gore.

MLT operates multiple hospitality and accommodation venues across the district and employs approximately 150 staff. This is a senior management role responsible for leading our people strategy and ensuring best practice Health and Safety systems across the organisation. Also managing the Trust’s social media presence to ensure clear communication and strong community engagement.

About the Role

This position is responsible for

• Leading all Human Resources functions across the Trust
• Overseeing recruitment, performance management and staff development
• Managing employment relations matters and ensuring compliance with NZ employment legislation
• Leading and maintaining our digital Health & Safety platform and systems
• Ensuring compliance with the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015
• Conducting risk assessments, audits, investigations and reporting
• Supporting venue managers with HR and H&S guidance and best practice
• Driving a positive workplace culture focused on safety, accountability and continuous improvement
• Social media presences with strong community engagement

Essential Requirements

• Proven experience in Human Resource Management
• Proven experience in Health and Safety management
• Strong working knowledge of New Zealand employment legislation
• Strong understanding of Health and Safety legislation and compliance requirements
• Experience managing H&S systems within a digital platform environment
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong    leadership    and    influencing    ability
• Ability to work across multiple hospitality sites and departments

Highly Desirable

• Experience in the hospitality industry
• Experience working within a multi-site organisation
• Relevant HR and/or Health & Safety qualifications
• Experience presenting reports to senior leadership or Board level
• Experience in social media
