Te Kura Whakatipu o Kawarau (school at Hanley’s Farm) is seeking dedicated and empathetic people to join our team to support learners across the school. There are a variety of permanent, part-time positions Monday to Friday during the school term.
Learning Assistant (Grade B-C)
Various hours available
09.00am – 3.00pm (27.5 hours a week – Tues 8.30am start; 1 day a week 2.30pm finish)
09.00 – 12.00 (15.5 hours a week – Tues 8.30am start)
09.00 – 1.30pm (23 hours a week – Tues 8.30am start)
In this role, you will work in partnership with teachers to work
alongside children to support their learning and welfare. We are
looking for people with experience working with learners with
communication, learning and medical support needs. You will
need to have strong communication skills, patience, kindness,
and a high level of self-motivation and an ability to work without
continuous direct supervision.
Learner Support Aide (Grade A)
12.42 – 13.30 (4 hours a week Mon – Fri. Job share applications considered).
Your primary aim will be to ensure the health, safety, and well-
being of our learners over the lunchtime session in partnership
with teaching staff. We are looking for someone with strong
communication skills, patience, kindness, and a high level of
self-motivation. This role is ideal for someone who takes pride
in building trusting relationships and thrives in a multicultural
setting.
Start date to be negotiated. The pay rate will be in accordance with the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement. The successful applicants will be required to hold a satisfactory police vetting record.
