The Invercargill Student Support Network is looking for a 
energetic person with excellent relational skills to support our 
young people as they re-engage with education.

We pride ourselves on addressing the unmet needs and barriers our year 7-10 rangatahi face and communicating with school 
and whanau to ensure we deliver the best support and positive 
outcomes.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: 

Essential: 

  • Experience with group and one-to-one facilitation or 
    mentoring of young people. 
  • Experience identifying the unmet needs and barriers rangatahi face and communicating with school and whanau to ensure we deliver the best support and positive outcomes.
  • Current full driver’s license.  
  • Satisfactory completion of an identity check under the 
    Vulnerable Children Act 2014.

  • A commitment to working with young people, their families/ whanau to support them in effecting positive change. 
  • An understanding of the needs of students, respect for others, and a desire to improve outcomes for all students. 
  • Imaginative and innovative in developing different ways of 
    working with and engaging young people. 
  • Integrity, passion, enthusiasm and a sense of humour. 
  • Personal resilience and a well-developed sense of personal boundaries.
