The Ashburton Courier
IN TRADE
Ashburton Meat Processors Limited operate year-round from our premises in Bridge Street, Newlands, Ashburton and provide humane, professional abattoir services while producing a range of meat cuts for several significant local and national clients.
We are a three species plant, processing beef, lamb and pigs. We pride ourselves on our attention to animal welfare, on-time (and to specification) supply of products, food safety and the safety of our team members.
Due to retirement of one of our long-term employees, we are seeking a highly motivated and capable Maintenance Engineer to join our Ashburton based team on the night shift.
A full-time role, the hours of work will generally be 2.00pm until 11.00pm on a shift pattern. There will be the requirement to join the on-call roster and perform occasional rostered Saturday work.
Our primary focus is to eliminate and minimise downtime associated with plant and machinery. As a result, we are looking for a trade-qualified maintenance generalist, who is experienced across a range of plant systems including infrastructure and equipment within a food processing environment.
This role is an excellent opportunity for an organised, hands-on
person who prides themselves on being organised and providing a responsive breakdown service while maintaining progress on a range of preventative maintenance activities on general infrastructure, food processing equipment and auxiliary areas of the plant.
Applicants must have a background in maintenance in food processing plants, preferably supported by a qualification of NZQA or equivalent.
You will hold a full NZ drivers' licence and be able to prove you have the rights to work in NZ.
A current practising licence is also required for those with an electrical qualification.
To apply, email your details to careers@ab32.co.nz. Applications will close on 31 August, or as soon as we find the right candidate for this role.
Applicants will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical assessment including a drug and alcohol test.
We also conduct ACC claims injury checks prior to employment.
Due to the high volume of applications we receive, only candidates selected for interview will be contacted.
We are unable to sponsor work-visas for this role at this time.
