Office Manager - Part-time

The DSO is one of NZ’s leading professional orchestras, and it presents an increasingly diverse and exciting range of projects. It seeks someone who will enjoy being part of Dunedin’s vibrant cultural environment.The DSO’s Office Manager plays a key role in contributing to the success of the orchestra’s projects. This role will suit someone who is experienced, multi-skilled and motivated, who can multi-task, show initiative, work accurately under pressure, and who enjoys working with a wide variety of
people (musicians, volunteers, the Board, audience, sponsors,VIPs etc). A strong interest in orchestral music is desirable.

The Office Manager is responsible for managing:

  • Monthly financial functions.
  • Database and payroll systems.
  • Concert series subscription processing, including ticketing.
  • Front-of-house arrangements for concerts.
  • Multi-faceted administrative functions of the office.
  • Health and safety requirements.
  • Assisting with hires of Hanover Hall, the orchestra’s home

Essential skills and experience for this role are:

  • Xero accounting (debtors, creditors, transaction coding), Microsoft packages (especially Word and Excel), Database, Payroll.
  • Excellent inter-personal, written and verbal skills.

The core role is 30 hours per week (with the potential of additional hours available for the successful candidate). There will also be additional evening and weekend work (Board meetings, concerts) and at other busy times.
