Mobile Breast Screening Unit, Ashburton
40hrs/week for a 5-6 month fixed term contract from mid-June to early November 2025

BreastScreen Aotearoa, the national breast screening programme provides screening mammography for eligible participants. BreastScreen South, the regional provider for BreastScreen Aotearoa, requires a receptionist to work at the Ashburton Hospital site on the mobile breast screening unit for a fixed term from mid-June to early November. The hours are varied, between 8.00 am to 8.00 pm Monday to Saturday. Days of work and start/finish times are also varied based on requirements at the time.

This contract could lead to a regular fixed term contract, at approximately the same time each year, when the mobile screening unit is situated at the Ashburton Hospital site.

The position includes reception duties, data entry and general administration. 

The person we are seeking will have:

• Experience as a telephonist and receptionist
• A good command of the English Language
• Cultural knowledge, ideally Maori and / or Pacifica
• Excellent data entry/computer skills/excel
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• Be a team player willing to contribute to our values
• Ability to work independently
• Ideally experienced working in health

Empathy with women’s health and respect for other cultures is essential.

Training will be required on site at ScreenSouth premises in Christchurch. A job description is available on request.
