Do you wish to be at the forefront of one of the most exciting and innovative tourist destinations in the world? Kaikoura is seeking a passionate & unique individual to be the Manager of the Kaikoura Visitor Centre.

After hibernation of the centre since Covid we are set to reopen a reinvented and refreshed centre later in 2025.

If you gain great delight in helping people discover the beauty of Kaikoura and New Zealand; are passionate about leading a team of both part timers and volunteers that provide exceptional customer service & sales experience whilst managing the
day-to-day operations of a business, then this role is for you.

You will have a natural ability to motivate and inspire a team and, in this role, and you’ll be striving to become a best-in-class source of destination information, accommodation & activity sales. You will also be building relationships and assisting all current and future Kaikoura tourism operators and local businesses alongside the tourism customers that visit the Kaikoura Visitor Centre on a daily basis.

We would like you to have management experience; particularly in retail, travel and/or related businesses and you will be comfortable managing day to day operations and using technology to assist in delivering information to visitors.

This position is 40 hours per week, typically across consecutive 5 days, Monday to Sunday inclusive. As part of a small team, flexibility in hours of work is essential.
