We’re looking for someone friendly, flexible, and passionate about Gore to join our Visitor Centre team. If you enjoy helping people, sharing local knowledge, and working in a dynamic environment, this could be the perfect role for you.

You’ll be the go-to person for visitors, helping with travel bookings, selling souvenirs, and recommending must-see attractions. One day you might be at the Old Hokonui Moonshine Museum & Distillery, the next at Croydon Aviation

  • Maintain a welcoming and informative environment
  • Represent Gore District Council professionally
  • Contribute to the success of local tourism initiatives

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Experience in customer-facing roles (tourism, retail, or hospitality preferred)
  • A friendly, helpful, and approachable attitude
  • Flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, and extra hours during peak seasons
  • A willingness to obtain a Manager’s license for the sale of alcohol
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A genuine passion for Gore and its attractions
  • Applicants must have the right to live and work in New Zealand.

Why work for us

At Gore District Council, we’re committed to creating a vibrant and sustainable future for our community. You’ll be part of a supportive and inclusive team, with opportunities for professional development and the chance to make a real impact on the visitor experience in our district.
