And now for something a bit different. The funky white and green Toyota COMS is an ultra-light compact electric vehicle with a range of about 50 kilometres. It has travelled 12,751 kilometres. Regenerative braking helps to replenish the battery, and to recharge the COMS from dead flat up tp 100% takes about six hours. A single motor at the rear powers the COMS up to a top speed of 50km/h (or possibly 60km/h with a tail wind) This version has a compartment at the rear capable of carrying 30kg. Safety has been addressed by Toyota and it has undergone a thorough testing to ensure the safety of the occupant as well as protection of the battery pack. This unique vehicle cannot be driven on the road under current regulations, so usage is restricted to places where there is no public access or what could be termed a road. Possible uses would be around the farm, in a vineyard, or (perhaps) a golf course? Give it a thought, there may be a good use you could put it to.
